As this is the final crit for the Top 10 Things brief, we were allowed to write down a few questions that we wanted a critical response to to help our progress with things we may be concerned with.
What I would like to know about my work...
1. Is the design direction relevant to the context of the content of my project and also the channel I've proposed it to be on?
2. Is my blog clearly labelled and can you understand what I'm doing with my work from the blog?
3.Is the audio in the ident some that should be carried over to my main title sequence? Or should I use a piece of music throughout?
4. Is it all appropriate?/Is anything inappropriate?
Feedback sheet1
Strengths:-
- reeks of BBC ONE!
- in other words, very appropriate style for the channel, not too vicious
- sound works well, linked with the imagery, presumably there are other relevant sounds for the other bears
Areas For Improvement:-
-is the animation key to the programme or just the idents?
- some audio should carry over but it needs a distinct sound track not just effects
- clear labels but all your illustrations need to be up
Considerations:-
- BBC ONE use a lot of clean crisp photography and film...could this be mirrored in your work?
Feedback sheet2
Strengths:-
- strong illustrations
- works with the channel content & aesthetics work together
- backgrounds work well
- clear well communicated storyboards
- blog well labelled
- music suitable but might need music for the 60 second clips
Areas For Improvement:-
- more research into subject matter
- need to see storyboards for main title sequence
- look at downloading sound effects & audio used on Planet Earth/other BBC nature programmes
Considerations:-
- introduce the bear at 1 or seconds in? - clearer content
- maybe try using photos for backgrounds to contrast the illustrations
- keep all idents similar changing colour/environments
